SuperBobble, Stand 250 – A British brand with an obsession for bobble hats

Founded by 3 UK entrepreneurs, their vision, to create a new and exciting addition to the ‘Headwear/ accessories’ sector in the UK.

SuperBobble have an enthusiastic and ever-growing fan base who love the look of these hats, the combination of chunky broad gauge and reflective yarns, oversized bobbles and luxury thermal sherpa fleece lining offering unrivalled warmth and recognition.

The long dark months of winter equals bobble hat season here in the UK and with this in mind the brand brought safety to the forefront of their design thought process. By incorporating reflective ‘Hi-Vis’ yarn they have given the wearer piece of mind and the opportunity to be seen in low light. However, SuperBobble hats are not only a hit here in the UK.  Regular user testing takes place in the harshest of global locations, in the Southern Hemisphere, Patagonia and to the far north, Svalbard, where conditions can see temperatures drop well below -30c.

The brands focus on design takes inspiration from the ever-changing seasonal colour palettes of the wild and remote lands of Northern Europe with these Nordscapes providing a diverse combination of colours that nature intended. It was on an expedition to the Artic Circle where founder ‘Chris Hartley’s’ fascination with the Nordic way of life and especially the traditions of ‘Nordic’ knitting first began.  Interestingly historians have traced the traditions of attaching a bobble to hats back to 790 AD in Scandinavia, during the Viking era. A small statue of the Norse Goddess Freyr—symbolising peace, fertility, rain and sunshine was discovered in Sweden in 1904, where she was wearing a hat with a pom-pom which has led the historians to believe these embellishments may have had a religious or cultural significance. Such rich heritage continues to inspire and shape the brand today.

What truly sets SuperBobble apart is their insatiable thirst for creativity and delivering quality. Founders Chris, Julie and Liam have been involved in retail design for over 50 years combined, working with such brands as Rohan, Musto, Jack Murphy and Harris Tweed. Speaking to them, you get the feeling that they know their stuff and are determined to offer something innovative and distinctive in the outdoor market, something new.

With over 50+ designs on offer, the SuperBobble collection features a variety of heritage and contemporary styles, from traditional British Fairisles to authentic Nordic knit, classic fisherman’s and country cables to contemporary colourful stripes.

With such a diverse and extensive range there is truly a SuperBobble for everyone.
