OTS 2021 – Reducing our carbon footprint

If you have visited the show in the past, you will know that we are trying to improve the sustainability of OTS in line with the industry’s effort to reduce its carbon footprint. For 2021 we have a few new initiatives, which have also been accelerated due to the COVID pandemic in order to minimise touch points and cross contamination.

Venue – As you know we have moved to the Exhibition Centre Liverpool, which is only 5 years’ old – they have excellent environmental credentials which you can find HERE.
Carpeting – We have taken the decision to not carpet the halls – this is following the lead of the European shows but also as requested from many exhibitors and visitors. Carpets will not be placed on the aisles or stands. Individual stands might choose to carpet their stands or use sustainable flooring.
Show guide – Our usual visitors’ show guide will be produced in the same format as in previous years but will only be available digitally. It will be uploaded to the website in advance of the show, sent digitally to all our pre-registered visitors and available to download on-site from a QR code.
Magazines – Again, due to wastage and to reduce touch points we will not have free magazine bins.
Floor plans – There will be no floor plans printed – there will be a couple of (You are here) boards and visitors will be able to download the floor plan digitally in the same was as the Show Guide.
Lanyards – although we will have a surplus of lanyards from previous years, we are encouraging exhibitors and visitors to bring their own – this will reduce touchpoints and help reduce wastage.
Water stations – we will have water stations around the show, but we will NOT provide glasses – please bring your own water bottle.
